Lvov 1874, published by the Polish Bookstore. 14.5x22.5 cm, pp. 554, (2), 608, (2), 624, (3), 568, (3), 511, (3), 539, (1) [6 volumes], half leather binding of period. Good condition (on the spine of volume II, the bookbinder misstamped the title: it is Modern History - should be Medieval History; minor rubbing of the bindings, discoloration on the back of the bindings of volumes I and IV).

Dedicated to the Middle Ages, part of the monumental work Universal History by Friedrich Christoph Schlosser (1776-1861). The whole comprised twenty-two volumes, six of which (volumes V-X), presented here, dealt with the Middle Ages. It was arranged by G. L. Kriegk, reviewed by O. Jaeger and T. Creizenach. Translated from the latest edition by Vladimir Gorski.

Spain and Portugal from the fall of the Ommayad state to Henry of Trastamara. Western Europe in the second half of the 14th century. Italy and Germany from Urban V to the Council of Pisa. Turkish and Byzantine history to the capture of Constantinople. The history of Germany and Bohemia until the middle of the 15th century. The history of Italy and Spain in the early 15th century. Education and literature of the last half of the 15th century. England and France in the first half of the 15th century. History of Burgundy, Switzerland, Germany and France in the second half of the 15th century. The history of England from the Battle of Northampton to the end of the War of the White and Red Rose.
