Very detailed description of the region and individual localities. Both geographically and historically. "With regard to Krosno alone, Sarna accomplished a very important thing. He was the first of the researchers to reach so extensively into the priceless resource of the city's manuscript sources. He made use of 22 volumes of jury, council and alderman books, covering (with gaps) the history of the city from the 16th (1512) to the 18th century (1762). This industrious amateur historian made use of town and land records, manuscripts from the Lviv Ossolineum, and the archives of the bishop's consistory of the Latin rite in Przemyśl. He did not omit the archives of the Krosno deanery and the chronicles of local monasteries. He also drew knowledge from a number of printed sources. He was the first to discover and make contemporaries aware of the richness of the city's history, describing its development from the 14th to the 19th centuries. In addition, he characterized the local artisan and merchant community, its professional organizations, its resilience in action and its ties to the Church, and demonstrated the generous attitude of the monarchs toward their property."
