Full light brown leather. Binding bound with five-panel spine. Gilded embossing on spine, corners and edges of covers. Titling in gold on leather signboard. Cover boards and page edges hand-marbled. Traditional bibliophilic binding made in the workshop of Antykwariat Polski.
A fundamental work of Polish paremiology. Contains about 23,000 of the most widely used proverbs and sayings. Most of the proverbs are accompanied by the names of writers and titles of works from which they come and are enriched with footnotes explaining their meaning and origin.The work has a systematic arrangement and includes both dialect proverbs and extracts from important works of Polish literature.
