Binding: half leather of the epoch. Spine divided into 3 fields, in one of the fields the author's name is embossed, in the other the titlepage with volume numbers. The edges of the pages marbled.

Condition: good. Minor rubbing of the binding. non-current stamps of a private library ("Dr. St. Niedzielski"). Loosening of title page in volume 2. Occasional yellowing of paper. Other than that - a nice, clean piece.
At the end of volume 2 there is additionally attached a list of current publications of the Polish Bookstore.

Ryszard Roeppel (1809-1893) - German historian, member of the Poznan Society of Friends of Sciences. The first edition (in German) of his "History of Poland..." was published in 1840 in Hamburg and was highly praised by contemporary researchers. The author based his work on rich, critically researched source material, collected, among others, in the archives of Danzig and Wielkopolska.
