1. The book contains a collection of natural and geographical observations from trips to the Krkonoše Mountains by four authors: I. Johann Jirasek - mineralogical observations; II. Thaddaeus Haenke - botanical research and observations; III. Tobias Gruber - physical and oryctological remarks and observations; IV. Franz Joseph von Gerstner - remarks on the use of the barometer for altitude measurements. This work is an important contribution to the study of the Giant Mountains. Noteworthy are the copperplate illustrations and, above all, the folding map of the Giant Mountains.
2 One of the first systematic geographical studies of the Krkonoše Mountains. Franz Fuß (1745-1805) farmer, economist and surveyor, was a member of Czech and German scientific societies.
