Leni Riefenstahl (1902 - 2003) - German film director, screenwriter and producer known for her innovative aesthetics. Her person and work were often controversial because of her propaganda films affirming Hitlerism and because of her close ties to leading Nazi criminals (Goebbels, Himmler), who financed her artistic activities during the Third Reich. In addition to her film-related activities, she was also a photographer, actress and dancer.
