Tamara de Lempicka With the journal of Gabriele d'Annunzio's housekeeper / Tamara Lempicka with excerpts from Gabriele d'Annunzio's "Diary of a housekeeper" - Franco Maria Ricci, Italy 1977 by Franco Maria Ricci editore in Parma, first edition, on handmade, dyed paper from the Pietro Milani factory in Fabriano. This is one of 3,000 pieces of the first edition, a numbered piece, this one is numbered 1799. This work is the fifth volume in Franco Ricci's exclusive publishing series "The Signs of Man", all in English, f. 24 x 35.5cm, pp. 157, (1), RARE

On the album cover, Lempicka's iconic brush portrait epitomizing the ideal of the "new woman" in the frenetic 1920s - independent, modern, doing what she feels like doing, enjoying the rush of the automobile, sports and luxury. In the text, reproductions of 44 paintings by the artist, as well as 2 photographs and a dozen letters. Next to each reproduced work a description [title, year of creation, technique, signed, exhibitions, origin information].

Tamara LEMPICKA [Tamara de Lempicka, owner: Tamara Rozalia Gurwik-Górska 1898 - 1980] painter of Polish origin, an outstanding representative of art deco. Her works today reach dizzying sums at art auctions, making her the most expensive Polish painter in history.

Album in cabinet condition. Cardboard case with a decolletage mark at the spine joint.
