The period of Poland's independence brought many economic and social changes. Among other things, mandatory rest was introduced. This very pleasant necessity largely contributed to the incredible boom in tourism at the time. Zakopane, Krynica, the newly discovered Kazimierz Dolny or the Eastern Carpathians promoted more and more new forms of recreation.
The book Wypoczynek w II Rzeczpospolitej (Leisure in the Second Republic) will take the reader on a magical journey to a time when spas were experiencing years of splendor, tourists were just mapping out today's popular hiking trails, excelling in water sports and enjoying the entertainment offered by newly established travel agencies.
