"Former Lodz City Hall" by Jozef Raciborski presents the history of Lodz City Hall from its oldest forms up to the 19th century. Based on archives and drawings, the author describes the development of the organization of the city government, the architecture of the building and its functional transformations. He discusses in detail the construction of the brick town hall in the New Town, the installation of the tower clock and later reconstructions. The work also shows the destruction of the city hall during World War I and its restoration.
