From the book collection of Stanislaw Filibert Fleury (1858-1915), a prominent photographer and painter, an important figure in the artistic circles of Vilnius, collector of books, maps and engravings (hand-painted ex-libris, ownership entry on the cover of the edition). The only catalog of its kind in Polish literature, it contains a detailed description of the country's largest collection of 1536 religious medals. The author of the descriptions and at the same time the owner of the collection was Teofil Rewoliński (1821-1899), the head of the Ujazdowskih Hospital in Warsaw, and a great expert and researcher of Polish medals and religious medals. The lithographed plates contain images of the obverse and reverse of each of the medals described. Striking lithographed cover, with images of Polish saints (including Wojciech, Stanislaw, Kazimierz). Minor soiling and damage to the cover, small spots in the contents and on the boards, otherwise good condition. Rare.
