The piece consists of two volumes: the first is a collection of 1,496 pieces divided into female and male songs (arranged thematically, including : wedding, hunting, warrior, thugs [!], feast, dance, love), the second is a score of 160 melodies orchestrated by Karol Lipinski - a Polish violinist, composer and pedagogue.
