August Edler Kunzek von Lichton (1795-1865) - physicist, professor and rector of the University of Lviv, professor at the University of Vienna.
He studied philosophy at the Univ. of Olomouc and law, mathematics and physics at the Univ. of Vienna. From 1824 to 1848 he was a professor at Univ. of Lviv. Together with professors Ignacy Lemoch and Antoni Gloisner, he co-organized the Lviv Polytechnic School in 1844. [biographical sketch after wikipedia.pl].
The offered commemorative print was issued on the occasion of August Kunzek's farewell celebration, at the end of his work at the Lviv university (1848). The cantata was arranged and published anonymously by Wincenty Pol (1807-1872). At the time, Pol served as editor of the Ossoliński National Library in Lviv.
