Banach 792. Tucked in small loss of lower spine, rubbing of cover corners, one plate missing (after p. 110), otherwise good condition. On the front cover a color composition showing a lancer at his horse against a background of a tent; the whole closed with a wide geometric-floral border. Text printed in decorative line frames, each song begun with an elaborate initial. Juliusz Kossak's illustrations in the text (18) and on the plates (5) are reproduced in woodcut; the blocks were engraved by Z. Szymanski and A. Zajkowski. At the end, explanatory notes for the third edition, notes, several pages of text on horses (races, coats, varieties, etc.). Printed at Brockhaus in Leipzig.
