Contemporary art binding, full goatskin. On the face of the cover in its central part embossed and gilded floating ship enclosed compositionally in a gilded frame. On the spine gilded titling. Tinted card trims, marbled endpapers, original booklet cover pastedown.


A work devoted to maritime policy in the broadest sense, covering a variety of issues related to the history and culture of Pomerania and the activities of the Polish Navy. Individual articles concern, among others: the history of the struggle for access to the sea (K. Tymieniecki), old Polish sailing (A. Czołowski), the history of the Church in Pomerania (T. Glemma), customs of the Pomeranian people (E. Frankowski, B. Stelmachowska), art in Pomerania (B. Makowski) and the Polish Navy (R. Czeczott). The book was published on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Poland's marriage to the sea.

A beautiful publication in terms of typography. Responsible for the layout of the book was the co-founder of the avant-garde art group of graphic designers , "Ryt" and a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow Ludwik Gardowski.There is also an appendix with descriptions of companies and institutions, numerous illustrations in the text and an extensive bibliography of the subject. Rare.
