Jan Parandowski's 1933 historical novel, for which he was awarded a bronze medal in the Olympic art and literature competition during the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Jan Parandowski (1895 - 1978) - Polish writer, essayist and translator of literature, author of Mythology, Olympic medalist (1936), twice nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature (1957, 1959).
