* CHOLEWIŃSKI Władysław h. Cholewa (1852-1920) - doctor, social activist. He belonged to the generation of Poles who showed their patriotism in the struggle to maintain Polish education and culture. Ripin returned the favor for his activities and patriotic attitude by granting Dr. Wladyslaw Cholewinski the title of the city's first honorary citizen after liberation in 1918.
