The Republic of Poland's regaining of independence after the Great War in 1918 was not only the breaking of more than a century of partition, but also the starting point for the construction of a new, independent statehood. Within the emerging Second Republic, the forming armed forces remained an important factor in building the identity of the state and society. The Republic was not only regaining its independence, but also free access to the sea. As a result, it became possible to establish on the waters of the Baltic not only the Polish Navy, but also naval aviation. The appearance of seaplanes and aircraft with the white and red checkerboard over the Baltic, was further evidence of the consolidation of independence and independence of the country emerging from the darkness of the partition era, and a showcase of the state in neighboring countries. The presented book by Andrzej Olejko, is not only the first in Poland and abroad such a serious attempt to show the history of the naval aviation of the Second Republic, but also, as it seems, the culmination of many years of research by this outstanding Polish researcher of the history of naval aviation.
