OLD POLISH CULTURE
The publication contains the yield of the Jan Kochanowski convention organized by the PAU on the 400th anniversary of the poet's birth. The papers presented a panorama of the Polish culture of the Golden Age. The most eminent scholars of interwar Poland wrote about various areas of life in the 16th century, including: Fr. Bujak on economic policy, St. Kutrzeba on social life, St. Estreicher on legal culture, A. Brückner on the Reformation and the influence of Polish culture on neighboring countries, K. Piekarski on books in Poland of the 15th and 16th centuries, St. Tync on education and upbringing, J. Krzyżanowski on Polish poetry, St. Komornicki on artistic culture, K. Dobrowolski on the mindset and morality of Old Polish society, and M. Bałaban on the mindset and morality of Polish Jewry. The book comes with a detailed index of persons and places.
