Coverdesign by Edward Manteuffel, mentioned in the book , "Now the cover!". by Jan Staruss: Its perhaps best embodiment is the signature trident cover of the second issue of the quarterly magazine "Nike" from 1939. Its heroine: a barefoot goddess, like a little girl winged with joy, is so unlike the armless ruler from Samothrace. This is another parabola - after all, the triumph of art (even in the shadow of the coming war) should inspire optimism.
The notebook includes an original woodcut by St. Ostoi-Chrostowski. Edited by Juliusz Starzynski.
Includes, among others:
- From the history of a certain legend, From studies on old Polish weaving,
- Notes due to the exhibition of A. Chmielowski,
- Monumental declarations of the Polish pavilion at the exhibition in New York and the Main Station in Warsaw,
- Chronicle of exhibitions of the Institute of Art Propaganda,
- "History of Art Criticism". - L. Venturi. Graphic design by S. Ostoja-Chrostowski
