Novel from the cult series about the adventures of Mr. Samochodzik.
There are individuals roaming around the Bieszczady villages buying up extremely valuable icons from local peasants, which are then mysteriously auctioned off in antique shops in Vienna.
Tomasz is given a task by director Marczak to track down the smuggling shaykh. So he contacts friendly art appraisers and from one of them - Jaroslaw Dohnal from Prague, Czech Republic - he gets an interesting piece of information, which he decides to check on the spot.
The trip is slightly delayed because of a dog that our hero has promised to take care of. When finally, after many adventures caused by this dog, Tomáš turns up in Prague, he finds himself there, by the way of a case of icons, to an extremely intriguing mystery, the roots of which are still in the 16th century - the age of masters of black magic, sorcerers and magicians.
