Spine and edges of covers slightly rubbed, inside good condition. On the front pastedown a small sticker of a Parisian bookseller and a larger sticker of the Polish National School in Batignolles dedicating the book as a reward to Bolesław Niewęgłowski, a student of the third grade, "for exemplifying himself in religion". Niewęgłowski in later years became one of France's most prominent mathematicians, author of geometry textbooks, editor-in-chief of the journals "Revue de mathématique spéciale" and "Bulletin de la mathématique elémentaire." The dedication was signed by the chairman of the School Council, Seweryn Gałęzowski, a Vilnius physician, November insurgent, knight of the Order of Virtuti Militari, and émigré activist; "as chairman of the School Council since 1854, he led to the flourishing of the Batiniol school in Paris" (Wikipedia).
