Nachman Bluemental - Jewish historian, 1947-1949 director of the Jewish Historical Institute, activist of the Central Jewish Historical Commission. Before World War II, he graduated from the University of Warsaw with a degree in Polish Studies. He survived the war by hiding. In 1950 he emigrated to Israel.
