Description of , "prophetic" drugs; hashish, opium, cocaine. The author outlines brief characteristics of each of them- origin, use, and descriptions of the condition they induce. In the second part he refers to the , "novelty" on the European market which is a sacred species of cactus, called by the Mexican Indians Peyotl. Prof. Muszynski describes the state of research on this stimulant at the time, its history and the states it induces.
It is worth mentioning that peyote was intoxicated by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz, who liked to create under the influence of this very drug.
"While alcohol and cocaine can be classified as realistic venoms, - they intensify the world without giving the mood of the uncanny - I would call peyote a metaphysical drug, giving a sense of the strangeness of existence, which in the normal state we experience extremely rarely - in moments of solitude in the mountains, late at night, in periods of great mental exhaustion, sometimes at the sight of things of great beauty, or when listening to music, unless it is simply a normal metaphysical-artistic impression, coming from grasping directly the Pure Form of the artwork itself.''
