Album containing an extensive collection of engravings (intaglios) depicting the most famous works by Italian artists, published as part of the monumental series "Museum of European Art" by Michal Glücksberg (1838-1907), a distinguished bookseller and publisher from Warsaw.
The engravings depict paintings and sculptures of Italy's most distinguished museums: Vatican and Capitoline in Rome, the National in Naples, the Pitti and Uffi zi galleries in Florence, private galleries and palaces (Borghese, Rospigliosi, Sciarra), the Sistine Chapel, the Pinacoteca of Bologna, the museums of Parma and Venice.
The whole is complemented by woodcuts with views of palaces and churches and portraits of painters.

Condition DB/ rubbing of spines and minor stains on covers, exlibri on front cover with rust spots [foxing] in places, nevertheless a NICE piece.
