Gertrude (1025-1108), daughter of the Polish king Mieszko II Lambert and Rycheza; wife of the Grand Duke of Kiev. As the author of Latin prayers in poetic prose, recorded in the Gertruda Codex, she is the earliest Polish writer known by name.
