Czeslaw MILOSZ - OCALENIE
The first postwar and fourth volume of poems by C. Milosz, the last that the poet published in the country before leaving in 1951 for the West. Includes poems written between 1932 and 1939 (previously printed in magazines and earlier volumes) and new works written during the war. "The volume was considered the most accurate poetic record of the experience of the entire nation in the era of wartime cataclysm [...]. `Rescue' was received as a tribute to occupied and insurgent Warsaw, the tragic struggles of the ghetto, the heroism of the fighters and the fallen" (LPPE).
