By special order of the bishop, parish priests were obliged to have a copy of the treatise. Nicholas, writing the treatise, tried to bypass the complexities of a scholastic-canonist nature, and showed extensive erudition and knowledge of the laws. He emphasizes the distinctiveness of Polish customs, marks his individuality, mentions his studies at the Univ. of Krak. The treatise on sacraments enjoyed considerable popularity in Poland, as well as abroad. Mikolaj of Blonie called Bee (d. before 1448), canonist and preacher. He came from Blonie near Pruszkow near Warsaw. He studied law at the Univ. of Krak where he later taught. From 1422 to 1427 he held the position of royal chaplain. During this time he became close to the diplomat and politician under chancellor Stanisław Ciołek, after whose consecration as bishop of Poznań in 1428, he became his chaplain and moved to Poznań. Extremely valuable work maintained at the high level of science of the time, giving important clues to the history of canon law in Poland. As accedit attached "Confessionale" of Pseudo-Thomas Aquinas. Rare.
