Propaganda of feminine virtues in Roman art. In ancient times, many phenomena and concepts were deified in a manner characteristic of the ancient mentality and polytheistic religions, including abstract concepts. Numerous epigraphic and literary as well as archaeological testimonies confirm the existence of a cult of such personifications in Italy. The cult of some personifications gained momentous importance during the period of struggle of the late Republic, and in the Augustan period it was organized and in the case of some of these new deities - linked closely to the imperial house. Breaking away from historical accounts, and relying on iconographic sources (coin reverses), the author examines the power of imperial propaganda concerning the world of women. The symbolism of female moral virtues or their propaganda has not been discussed so far, except for minor mentions.
