The memoir of Marshal Pilsudski's adjutant was to be published by the Rój publishing house in the fall of 1939. The outbreak of war made it impossible to print the already finished text. However, the author preserved the typescript, which became the basis for the present edition. The text is unusual in that it was written with the idea of immediate publication in mind.
