Wraps somewhat rubbed and dusty, top margin of rear cover cut off, minor local yellowing of paper. Ex. almost entirely uncut. "The First Centuries of Polish History" translated into French by the poet's son from a then unpublished manuscript, provided by him with a preface. The Polish edition took place in the same year. Here the text was published in print for the first time.
"The small-sized text covers the original history of Slavonia, the emergence of Poland as a separate historical entity and the reign of its first rulers up to and including the division into districts. The poet worked on the history of Poland between 1835 and 1838" (Enc. Mick. 394).
