Jan Michalak arrested by the Gestapo together with his parents as a less than 16-year-old boy went through Pawiak in Warsaw, the extermination camps at Majdanek and Gross-Rosen, and the commando of the Flossenbürg concentration camp in Leitmeritz.
The author survived the camps thanks to the help of his older friends, political prisoners. J. Michalak's memoirs, which we present to the readers, received the fourth prize in the competition for memoirs and memoirs related to the Majdanek concentration camp.
