Michał Maksymilian Rekucki (born October 2, 1884 in Nowy Targ, died December 15, 1971 in Cracow) Studied at the Polytechnic School in Lvov, at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University and at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts (1907-1912) under Józef Mehoffer and Wojciech Weiss. He painted portraits of highlanders, scenes from their lives, and landscapes of the Tatra Mountains and Podhale. In 1924-1959 he stayed in the USA. Larger collections of the artist's works are held by: Polish Museum in Chicago and Podhale Museum in Nowy Targ.
