The book tells the story of an artist who contributed immensely to the international recognition of the UQAM School of Design (L'Université du Québec à Montréal).
Noise Alfred:
Designer and educator. Graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Zamosc (1960). Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where he received a diploma in interior design (1968) and industrial design (1971). He began his career as an assistant to Professor Marian Sigmund. In 1972, he moved to France. He worked at the Agence parisienne d'esthétique industrielle (A.P.E.S.), then at the Société d'études coordonnées (S.E.C.). In 1975, he moved to Canada.
Since 1975, he has been permanently associated with the Canadian Design Center of the Univeristé du Québec in Montreal. In 1977 he became a professor at the University of Québec in Montreal in the department of industrial design. He teaches classes in the methodology and syntax of design graphics. In 1980, he co-organized the "Bretelle" laboratory for experimental research in visual communication. In 1981, he created the Centre de... with colleagues. (info. from ArtInfo.pl)
