Preserved in excellent condition original publisher's binding. Navy blue decorated linen, on the spine gilt ribbons arranged in geometric shapes and two signboards (green and red) with gilt titling, on the cover faces gilt titling, upper page edges stained in the color of the binding.


First Polish edition of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks, for which the author was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1929. The Buddenbrooks portrays the downfall of a wealthy merchant family in Lübeck, depicting the conflict between the world of art and business in the context of 19th-century German bourgeois society.Rare.
