Spine covered with paper, loss of corner of back cover, stains of front cover, small trace of damp; condition not very good. Inside front cover, handwritten dedication by the author to Count Jozef Dzieduszycki, stamped by the recipient. Modest in volume, but important in content, work by a physician active in Vilnius and Warsaw, later a Virtuti Militari cavalier for participation in the November Uprising. The person of Kaczkowski and his thesis presented here was devoted to an article by M. O. Turos (in Modern Medicine, issue 2, 2020), in which we read: Kaczkowski "showed the way [...] to take prompt and effective measures both in the army and for the protection of the civilian population during the fight against the epidemic that struck the Kingdom of Poland in 1831 [...]. Despite its slimness, the work is prepared with extraordinary care, written in a language that is communicative and at the same time concise."
