2nd supplemented edition (1st edition was published in 1921). A collection of historical and literary sketches on the moral culture of Polish Romanticism. The author discussed, among others, the great loves of Mickiewicz, Slowacki, Krasinski and others. Among the chapters: Lovers of the First Days; Among Tulips and Narcissus; On Lieutenant Malczewski; Samaritan Woman and Pentesilea; Donna Giovaninna; Salon of Evnia; Happiness of Liszt and Balzac; Clementine of Tańska. On the boards portraits of the most famous Polish women. Luxurious binding of the period: wide red half leather, five-panel spine, in two fields signboards with gilded titling, in the rest ornaments with floral ornamentation, leather corners. Rubbing of the binding, some soiling and minor yellowing in the text, some illustrations on the boards slightly rubbed, otherwise good condition.
