The most famous historical work, next to "Życie polskiego w dawnych wiekach", by Wladyslaw Lozinski (1843-1913), historian, novelist, novelist. A colorful panorama of Polish customs in the Eastern Borderlands. Includes chapters such as: The Reich of the Nobility; The Land of Lvov; The Land of Halicz; The Land of Przemysl and Sanok; The Devil of Łańcut (Stanisław Stadnicki). The author also described Domestic Affairs (including the excesses of castles and manors) and Plagues of Life (Tartars as a chronic plague, redemption from jasyr, moral decay). Luxurious period binding in brown half-leather, five-panel spines, with titlepage on one field stamped in gold, field edges highlighted with gilt wavy line. Undated ownership stamps. Good condition, a nice piece.
