First edition of an avant-garde mini-novel set in Palestine in the 1940s. In a marketplace in Jaffa, Peter, a young man with a rubber hand, "forced by circumstances and moral debts" puts himself up for sale....Leo Lipski, or Lipschütz, is a Polish émigré writer of Jewish origin. His work is autobiographical - he referred in it, among other things, to his stay in a Soviet gulag and to his long-term disability.
