First edition. Impressions about "Szpilki" - illustrated satirical magazine, founded in 1935 by Eryk Lipinski, Zbigniew Mitzner and Zenon Wasilewski. Piece with autograph, dedication and a small drawing by the author.
It was my intention to write a book about matters related to "Pins" and not more widely known, about various behind-the-scenes affairs, satirists' meetings, court trials, as well as jokes, curiosities, anecdotes, etc. However, I write first and foremost about the people, because "Pins" are just the people who have passed through there. I was not guided by any motives or by who printed more, or who worked more years, or who was better and who was weaker. And I was not guided in this case by my sympathy or antipathy for the person in question. [excerpt]
