Published at the beginning of the year 1890 by the ARCYDIAL LIBRARY IN KRAKOW, POLAND IN IMAGES will be one of the most wonderful Polish publications. Everything that relates to our past and that should be dear to every Pole will be included in this work, namely: Historic Polish cities, churches, castles, ruins, battles, images of kings, commanders, heroes, heroines, great writers and thinkers, masterpieces of Polish art, etc.
In a letter to readers, the publisher reports on the fierce battle between Polish publishing houses and Viennese agents. The Polish cheaper loses, unfortunately, to the more expensive and inferior Viennese edition. In addition, the publisher evaluates:
We have looked at the heliogravure reproductions of GROTTGER'S WAR by the publisher Adam Kaczurba in Cracow and compared them with the same reproductions by Bonde from Vienna. We find that Adam Kaczurba's reproductions are not inferior to those of Bonde in any way, and are even more careful in some details.
The price of Adam Kaczurba's publication of 2 zlotys is indeed low in comparison with Bondego's price of 15 zlotys for the same reproductions.
Condition of preservation good:
Beautiful bookbinding, half leather with cream cloth, the mold on the cover refers to the pattern seen on the booklet cover of POLSKI W OBRAZACH. Cards with minor and few underlinings. Minor staining and soiling.
The album includes: 4 notebooks including notebook II with only one board out of five and, notebook III with one board missing. Notebook I and IV complete.
