Commemorative book of the highly influential and important French journal. "Journal des Débats", published since the French Revolution of 1789, originally mainly as a source of information about the debates of the National Assembly, later as a news-political-literary newspaper, particularly popular in the first decades of the 19th century, also during the Napoleonic period (as "Journal de l'Empire"), in which texts were published by prominent people of the period (among others, Victor Hugo). The collective book, published with vigor on the 100th anniversary of the periodical, contains dozens of articles on its history, people, profile and importance in the French reading market. Special copy, on vellum, with double plates in etching (12 in total) and heliogravure (20) - rebound on Chinese paper. Slight rubbing of edges, very good condition.
