Jan Kanty Dzialynski [1829 - 1880] - count, Polish political and social activist, January Uprising insurgent, owner of Kórnik (near Poznan) and Janusz (Lodz province) estates. On February 21, 1857, he married Princess Izabela née Czartoryska [1830-1899], daughter of Adam Jerzy Czartoryski [1770-1861] president of the National Government. After the defeat of the January Uprising, he took refuge in France. At the Berlin Trial he received a death sentence in absentia and confiscation of property. In 1869 he was granted an amnesty wih exemption from charges. Upon his return to Greater Poland, he became involved in cultural activities, enlarged the collection of the Kórnik library, and continued his publishing activities [Kodeks dyplomatyczny Wielkopolski, Acta Tomiciana]. In 1872, he was one of the founders of the Peasant's Bank in Poznan. He died without an heir, and bequeathed his estate to his nephew Władysław Zamoyski.
