Trzaska, Evert and Michalski Publishing House" existed in Warsaw from 1920 to 1963. The founders of the company were two very experienced booksellers - Wladyslaw Trzaska (1881-1964) and Jan Michalski (1889-1945), while the financial support, which allowed to start the company, was given by well-known industrialist, social activist and senator of the Republic of Poland Józef Ludwik Evert (1863-1945). Thanks to the work of excellent bookselling professionals, the bookstore won recognition not only among readers, but was also noted in the book and publishing circles.Cooperation with the National Printing House in Krakow, as well as the selection of the best authors, meant that books signed by the publishing house received valuable awards at many national and international exhibitions. The craftsmanship and quality of the encyclopedic items published by TEM were very high, thanks to the editor-in-chief of the encyclopedia and dictionary department, Stanislaw Lam, who had been associated with the publishing house since 1924(after M. Pieczonka, "Editorial activity of "Księgarnia Wydawnicza Trzaska, Evert i Michalski"; R. Adamski "Księgarnia Wydawnicza Trzaska, Evert i Michalski")
