The comprehensive work contained 32 "truths" necessary for the exercise of authority. Here truths 12-32 are presented, such as: No fame can be acquired by a Prince who chooses infamous Ministers for himself; The devotion of his subjects is the greatest treasure on which Princes can safely rely; No happy Prince deserves to be happy who neglects to please the unhappy; Not so necessary for a Prince to know how to speak as to know how to keep silent.
