Kurt Wiese (1887-1974) - German trader and illustrator, author of children's books, fate threw him around most of the continents (from Hamburg he went to trade in China, where during the first war he was arrested by the Japanese, who handed him over to the English, who sent him to Australia as a prisoner of war, then he ended up in Brazil, and since 1927 he settled in the USA). He became an illustrator of children's books - in 1928 he had great success, the English edition of Felix Salten's book "Bambi" with his illustrations turned out to be a bestseller and received many editions around the world.
