1 (Estr. T. 20). Begins "Dedication to Jakob Puteus Cardinal dated Viennae [...]. In it he praises Stanislaus(awa) Hosius" (Estreicher). "De vera et falsa religione...", is the author's translation of "Rozmowy Dworzanina z Mnichem", a series of religious polemical dialogues by Marcin Kromer, published in Polish in 1551-1554. The offered work contains the third conversation entitled: "On the Church of God or of Christ". The purpose of the dialogue is to defend Catholicism against the charges of the representatives of the Reformation. The persons engaged in the conversation are the Courtier and the Monk. This is one of Kromer's most important works. 2 It concerns the first and second letters of St. Paul to the Corinthians as interpreted by the German theologian, Augustinian of Colmar Johann Hoffmeister (1510-1547), an opponent of M. Luther. Kromer's work appears second in the book block. Early own inscription, stamps illegible, tears of several pages, marginalia, underlining. Traces of dampstaining and browning of pages, traces of woodworm. Nunnery binding: board, white leather with embossing, cracks at spine and loss of leather and board, traces of buckles. Rare. 1377.
