[KRAKOW]. Decorative handmade diploma for Maria Siedlecka, with a view of the Rev. Lubomirski Hostel building, now the main building of the Cracow University of Economics, dated. 25 March 1929 in Kraków.
Diploma form. 51x36.5 cm on stiff paper; anonymous composition on the first page, the other three pages blank. Text of the diploma: "To the noble Madam President Maria Siedlecka on her name day, the pupils of the Rev. Lubomirski Hostel". Surrounding the text is a decorative border with two colorful parrots and rose flowers in the upper corners and a view of the hostel building in a centrally located oval, 9 cm in diameter. Diploma somewhat dusty, otherwise good condition.
M. Siedlecka (1856-1942) - social activist, editor, co-organizer of the Cracow Women's Reading Room in the House under the Cancer (7 Szpitalna Street), of which she was the owner (at that address there used to be an antique shop "Rara Avis"). She was one of the main representatives of the feminist movement in the Polish lands in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
