From the introduction: "Moravia, and mainly its capital Bern, has been known abroad for a long series of years. As early as 1645, Bern became famous for its heroic defense against the army of the Swedish general Torstensohn, with which it caused a favorable change for Austria in the Thirty Years' War [...]It is not the purpose of this publication to spread knowledge of Bern abroad, but to arouse foreign interest in Bern as the best starting point for various tours of Moravia, a land rich in brightly colored national costumes, folk culture and special natural beauties."
