A five-volume work by Rev. Jan Korytkowski, containing detailed biographies of the archbishops of Gniezno who served as primate and metropolitan of Poland from the year 1000 until 1821, when the Gniezno archbishopric was merged with the bishopric of Poznan. Each volume contains biographies of successive hierarchs, based on archival sources, depicting their lives, pastoral activities and influence on the development of the Catholic Church in Poland.
