Carefully issued book with explanatory text of Rev. Ignatius Polkowski's plates, photo-printed likenesses of portraits of the astronomer and places associated with him, presented in rich art-historical staffage, works of art dedicated to him, etc., impressive woodcut bordure. "All these illustrations and frames composed of medical plants, were composed and drawn by Wojciech Gerson, and engraved on wood in the newly established woodcut shop in Warsaw by young artists of the Compatriots." - I.
